About Us Services Projects Contact Us

James and Kim Martin began a small landscape company in the spring of 1997. That company has evolved from college days with a small truck and trailer to a company that provides the entire northwest Florida panhandle with professional lawn and landscape services.

Gulfside Landscaping combines the incredible landscape design techniques of James Martin with the most knowledgeable landscape installation team to create some of Northwest Florida's most beautiful landscapes.

The Design Process
The design process takes the most time. During the design process, James works closely with the owners/ developers to ensure the landscape project flows with the Architecture of the building or residence as well as the natural surroundings found in proximity of the area.

After the design has been finalized and the owners are comfortable with their plant choices, sizes, specifications and design. Gulfside then provides the entire landscape package from start to finish.

Irrigation
The first step to any successful landscape is an irrigation system that will accommodate the plant material and the correct amount of water to the plants and trees. We have a talented team of irrigation technicians that can provide an irrigation system that will provide more than adequate coverage to the landscape.

Once the irrigation has been installed, the landscape beds are spray painted on the ground and the plant and tree placement begins. Plants and Trees are generally placed according to the design; however, the design is only a suggested guide for placement. All plants and trees are placed in their correct spot according to the design. Prior to the installation, Plant placement can be easily changed. A customer may want to change the position of the plants before they are installed, or the designer may see a small change he wants to make. Our main objective is to produce an aesthetically pleasing landscape that accents the residential or commercial property. Our customers take top priority! We want you to be happy with your landscape.

Fertilization
After the landscape is installed, fertilizer and pre emergent herbicide are installed in the landscape beds. Fertilizer helps the plants and trees grow. The pre emergent herbicide helps retard weed growth in the landscape beds. The Pre emergent herbicide should be installed 2 times per year. The final phase is to clean up the site, repair or install sod, and check through the irrigation one more time to insure proper watering.

At Gulfside Landscaping, we take pride in our custom landscape plans and have a staff that is second to none in the landscape industry.
